Cassandra L. Coats, Attorney

Cassandra Coats founded Coats Law Firm in 2025 because she wanted to be a trusted resource that truly listened to and supported clients. She also wanted to break free from the industry trends of burnout, supporting her team in their families and personal lives, creating a compassionate workplace that both team members and clients can feel.

Cassandra focuses her law practice on estate planning, probate, contracts, real estate, business formation and transactions, and related litigation. Known for her clear communication and approachable nature, Cassandra takes pride in guiding her clients through some of life’s most important and personal decisions with care and attention to detail.

An Oklahoma lawyer and proud native of Vinita, Cassandra earned her degree in Business Finance from the University of Oklahoma before going on to receive her Juris Doctor from the OU College of Law. During law school, she gained valuable experience as a licensed legal intern and was honored with the Nathalie Pierrepont Comfort Scholarship, the Am-Jur Academic Achievement Award in Legal Research and Writing I, the Cherokee Nation Graduate Scholarship, and participated in the Robert J. Turner American Inn of Court as well as the Native American Law Student Association and the OU Legal Clinic. Her passion for helping others has guided her career ever since, especially serving as an estate planning attorney.

In addition to managing her own practice, Cassandra has been deeply involved in both the legal and local communities. She has served on the Board of Editors for the Oklahoma Bar Journal, as an Associate Examiner for the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners, as a previous board member of Vinita Lions Club and Grand Lake Association, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for CASA of Northeast Oklahoma. Cassandra is also an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Section, as well as the Real Property Law Section.

Outside the office, you’ll likely find Cassandra enjoying life with her husband Derek, their daughter Lawrence, and their dog Luke. Whether she’s working with a client on an estate plan or helping resolve a real estate dispute, Cassandra brings the same steady, down-to-earth presence to everything she does.

Nicolette Martin, Legal Assistant

Nicolette Martin is the friendly voice you’ll often hear first when you call Coats Law Firm. As a Legal Assistant, she works closely with clients to gather important details, answer questions, and make sure each person feels confident and cared for throughout the legal process.

Originally from Miami, Oklahoma, Nicolette studied at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She’s passionate about helping people feel secure in their decisions, especially when it comes to planning for the future. Whether she’s assisting with estate planning, probate matters, or anything in between, Nicolette takes pride in being a steady support for every client searching for legal help in Oklahoma.

Clients often comment on how approachable and thoughtful she is, and she credits much of that to the positive example set by Cassandra: “Working with Cassandra is amazing! She’s smart, kind, and always willing to help anyone with anything.”

When she’s not in the office, Nicolette loves spending time outdoors with her husband and their two daughters – especially camping, gardening, and making memories together as a family.

If you’re working with Coats Law Firm, Nicolette will be one of the many reasons you feel right at home.
